Hyderabad is the capital city of south indian state telangana, the youngest state of the country. It is the fifth largest city in the country and a major Information Technology hub in indian after Bangaluru, which is silicon valley of india. History of Hyderabad:-

Foundation for Hyderabad was laid in the year 1591 by Muhammad Quli Qutb Shah, ruler of Qutb shahi dynasty. After the Qutb shahi dynasty, Nizam Asaf Jahi of Nizams ruled Hyderabad till 1948 before the Nizams of Hyderabad agreed to integrate Hyderabad with Indian Union. Hyderabad remained as a state from 1948-1956 before the state Reorganization act was introduced. In 1956 Hyderabad state was merged with Andhra Pradesh and hyderabad remained capital of Andhra pradesh till 2014.  

People and Festivals:-

Hyderabad is a cosmopolitan city with people from all parts of india residing in hyderabad. Population of hyderabad is over one crore and is spread across 625 square kilometers. People from hyderabad are called hyderabadi and most of the hyderabadi are multilingual and speak Telugu, Hindi, and English. Hyderabad Celebrates state festivals Bonalu and Bathukhama. Ramzan is also celebrated in hyderabad which is having high number of muslim population.  


Hyderabad is house for major IT giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Apple, Qualcomm, CA Technologies. Indian Software companies that have their operations from hyderabad are Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, Hcl, Tech Mahindra. IT companies in hyderabad provide IT based services, Financial Services, and Business process outsourcing(BPO). 

Major It parks in hyderabad are Raheja Mindspace, Info city, financial district, Raheja It park Pocharam. These IT parks are located and spread accross Madhapur, Hitech city, Gachibowli, Financial district in Nanakramguda and Uppal. Information Technology in Hyderabad provides employment to around five lakh employees directly and two lakh employees indirectly.


Over the years hyderabad has shown tremendous improvement in the Education sector. Hyderabad has popular technical institutes like Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad(IIT-H), Indian Institute of Information Technologies Hyderabad(IIIT-H), Indian School of Business(ISB), Institute of Chartered Financial Analyst of India(ICFAI).

Osmania University, Jawahar Nehru Technology University, Ambedkar open university are the popular universities from hyderabad and have more than 150 engineering colleges affiliated to them. some of the popular engineering colleges in hyderabad are Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology(CBIT), Vasavi Engineering college, Sreenidhi Institute of Science and Technology.

Film Industry:-

Hyderabad is house to telugu film industry popularly known as Tollywood. Tollywood Film Indusrty is the second largest in india after Bollywood. Tollywoood produces over 300 more per year on and average and has success rate of around 5 percent, the highest success percentage in indian cinema. Highest grossing indian movie Baahubali is a telugu movie that was dubbed in hindi, tamil languages. Baahubali movie was made in 2 parts and collected over 1500 crores.

Famous food items that you must try in hyderabad are Biryani(both chicken and mutton),hyderbadi marag, Haleem, shawarma, variety of kebabs. popular deserts include double ka meetha, Kaddu ki kheer, qubani ka meetha. Hyderabad Cricket Association(HCA) is the official body that controls cricket activities in hyderabad and Telangana. Hyderabad Cricket Association was formed in the year 1934. Former indian cricket team captain mohammad Azharuddin, vvs laxman, pragyan ojha, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammad Siraj are few players who representes indian from hyderabad.

Hyderabad franchise in indian premium league(ipl) is Sunrisers Hyderabad and is owned by sun networks. Hyderabad has won ipl titles two times so far once in 2009 under the leadership of Adam Gilchrist and in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner. 


Poople in hyderabad have multiple transportation options to commute within Hyderbabad. Road network in hyderabad is very well connected to all parts of hyderabad. Telangana State Road Transport Service(Tsrtc) operates buses in hyderabad. Metro rail operates in three corridors covering 66 kilometers in hyderabad. Hyderabad metro rail has an average footfall of 4.5 lakh commuters a day. Multi model transport system(MMTS) covers 3 lines and has daily ridership of 22000. MMTS in hyderabad is run by south central railway.
